Consumer Buying Tip
A slate billiards table is a once in a lifetime investment.
Pay particular attention to whether it is a lifetime guarantee or a lifetime warrantee. There is a significant difference. Pay special attention to the structure. This will determine whether the table will meet, exceed or fall short of your expectations regarding performance and longevity versus cost.
Leisure Industries have more models available in our warehouse that are not featured on-line. Some are floor models, discontinued, scratch and dents, etc. These are usually available at discounted pricing and immediate installation within 100 km of our factory outlet.
There is evidence that the game of pool, or billiards has been played as far back as the fifteenth century. Historical records mention the game of "snooker"(an English version of billiards)played by the aristocracy in castles and mansions. In those days, a typical billiards table was 6' x 12' with a one piece slate bed. Over the years, table sizes have been reduced to fit into modern homes. With the advent of T.V., computers and video games, the game declined in popularity for a time. However, it has made a comeback in recent years as parents have come to realize the benefits of a home entertainment game that could be enjoyed by family and friends in a social setting. Pool tables have also progressed from the "pool hall" variety to quality furniture grade, handed down from generation to generation like a family heirloom.
